*Buhari visits Jigawa today*
President Muhammadu Buhari will begin a visit to Dutse, Jigawa state today. The visit, which was initially scheduled for 7 May, was postponed because President Buhari went to London to keep an appointment with his doctor.
He returned on Friday and said he was well.”I just went for a further medical check-up and I am alright, thank you`”, he told reporters on arrival.
Gov. Muhammad Badaru, who has planned a rousing welcome for the president said during the visit, the President is expected to commission some projects. A state dinner will be held in the evening and a rally on Tuesday.
According to Badaru, the `August visitor’ will inaugurate some roads and water projects within and outside the state capital during the visit. The President will also flag-off the operations of the state social security committee which was recently established by law.

*Police seal Kano Assembly over plan to impeach speaker*
Kano political temperament was raised to a boiling point Monday, following a move by aggrieved members of the Kano state house of Assembly move to remove the Speaker, Abdullahi Yusuf Ata for what they described “gross incompetence ”
The development followed the outcome of the just concluded All Progressive Congress ward and local government election that saw them losing grip of their constituency. Multiple sources in the House of Assembly confided in Vanguard that already “no fewer than 21 members out 40 have signed the impeachment notice to remove all the principal officers.
The leadership of the Assembly on what appeared a preemptive move has adjourned the sitting for 6 weeks. In a terse statement by the Public Relations officer to the Assembly, Ali Bala said that the House would resume plenary in 6 weeks time.

*Breaking News: Fayose Speaks On Buhari’s Statement*
The statement said, “President Buhari believes that Fayemi’s track record in the state as a reformist, with a penchant for building educational infrastructure and promoting the welfare of the ordinary people, will bolster his chances at the forthcoming polls.
“The President notes that the successful primaries in the state, with more than 30 aspirants, further validate the credentials of the APC on internal democracy, and its preparedness to take the country to another level of development.”
Reacting, Fayose who had earlier mocked Fayemi over his victory took to his Twitter page describing the president’s commendation as ‘day-dreaming’ Fayose urged the president to give Fayemi a position in FEC rather than congratulate him as his ambition to become Ekiti governor was dead on arrival.
