*Buhari, APC taking Nigerians for fools, says Obasanjo as CNM melds with ADC*
Opposition to the All Progressives Congress, APC, got a fillip yesterday, when the Chief Olusegun Obasanjo-inspired Coalition for Nigeria Movement, CNM, collapsed into the African Democratic Congress, ADC, with the aim of enthroning a new generation of leaders in the country. This is as Obasanjo said President Muhammadu Buhari and his party, APC, had taken Nigerians for fools.
The collapse of CNM came as its co-founder, Chief Olagunsoye Oyinlola resigned his membership of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC. He also resigned his position as chairman of the National Identity Management Commission, NIMC, to boot. Oyinlola announced the development, while addressing newsmen in Abuja at a conference attended by Mr. Akin Oshuntokun, spokesman of the CNM and founder and national chairman of the ADC, Chief Ralph Nwosu.
Speaking three hours later at a separate briefing in Abeokuta, Ogun State, former President Obasanjo said the collapse of CNM into the ADC was a way of reversing the fortunes of the country which he said had taken a turn for the worse in the last three years.

Former governor of the state, Ikedi Ohakim, Okorocha’s predecessor said he would not criticize his successor anymore because the governor was directionless. In an article entitled “Why I wouldn’t attack Rochas any longer,” Ohakim said Okorocha had lost focus and was constantly punching the air as deadly blows were reined on his grandiose body.
He wrote, “I concluded that Rochas has lost focus. He is not close to the target. He is punching the air as deadly blows are reined on his grandiose body. A fighter he is, an arrogant one for that matter, my hugely battered brother will never give up until the murder is committed in the ring. I think I wouldn’t be associated with this. At this point, I sheathe my sword. I am withdrawing from this unbalanced duel. Count me out!!! I don’t want to commit fratricide."

*Ekiti APC chieftains want direct primary*
A group of stakeholders in the Ekiti State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC yesterday called for direct primaries as the only way to go in resolving the imbroglio over the nomination of the party’s candidate. The ten stakeholders in a statement issued to the press yesterday said that 17 of the 24 aspirants at a parley chose that option over the option of indirect primaries and consensus that have also been adduced.
Noting that direct primaries would remove the bribery and other malfeasances that were replete during the botched primary election, the stakeholders called on the National Working Committee, NWC to do the right thing to salvage the image of the party by opting for that route.
They said: “We note with dismay the irregularities that preceded that exercise including shoddy arrangements by the organizing committee, lack of clear guidelines by the primary committee, the conflict of interest of its members, use of levers of violence and security agencies at the primary grounds and violation of secret ballot rules including evidence of primary delegates compromised by bribes, threats and intimidation.
