*Liverpool Survive🙏 Roma Scare to Reach CL Final⚔ 📹* http://v.duta.us/oSk_vgAA

Liverpool booked their place to face holders Real Madrid in the Champions League final despite losing 4-2 to Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.

Jurgen Klopp's side headed to the Italian capital with a commanding 5-2 advantage from last week's first leg, where their Serie A opponents snatched faint hopes of a comeback by netting a pair of late away goals.

Still, Roma had no margin for error – certainly not to the magnitude of the woeful blind pass midfielder Radja Nainggolan played in the ninth minute that resulted in Sadio Mane opening the scoring.

An incredibly unfortunate James Milner own goal did not knock Liverpool off their stride, with Georginio Wijnaldum restoring their ample cushion in the 25th minute.

First-leg goalscorer Edin Dzeko got in on the act seven minutes into the second half and frantic Roma pressure followed.

The mountain proved too steep for Eusebio Di Francesco's side to climb and the chances of a comeback to match their quarter-final heroics against Barcelona had all but evaporated by the time Nainggolan clattered in off the post four minutes from the end and dispatched a penalty deep into stoppage time.

It means only Liverpool's pursuit of a sixth European title stands between Madrid making it three in succession.

*Salah, Mane & Firmino🔥 Break Madrid's BBC Record💥*

Sadio Mane's early goal to break the deadlock against Roma saw the Liverpool star write his name into the Champions League record books, alongside his two striking partners in crime.

Mane needed less than 10 minutes to open the scoring in the Stadio Olimpico, as Liverpool's bid to defend the 5-2 lead picked up in the first leg got off to a perfect start.

After Radja Nainggolan's horrendous pass was picked up, the striker was fed in by Roberto Firmino and finished in emphatic fashion past Alisson.

The goal put Liverpool 6-2 ahead on aggregate, with Georginio Wijnaldum later restoring the four-goal advantage following James Milner's own goal.

The trio of Mane, Mohamed Salah and Firmino have now hit no less than 29 goals in this year's Champions League.

Salah and Firmino have contributed 10 each, with Mane chipping in with nine more.

That is more than any other forward trident has ever managed in a single campaign, breaking the record previously held by Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema that was set in 2013-14.

*'Absolute joke!' - Roma Officials😡 Fume at VAR Absence❗*

Roma chairman James Palotta and director of football Monchi have joined their voices to the chorus of those calling for Video Assistant Referees to be added to the Champions League following their side's semi-final defeat to Liverpool.

VAR has already been implemented in Serie A, but is not in place for the Champions League and UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has already announced the competition will not utilise it for next season either.

And chairman Palotta has had enough, declaring it a “joke” that the technology is not used for this type of competition in the aftermath of Slovenian referee, Damir Skomina.

“It’s absolutely clear that VAR is needed in the Champions League because you just can’t let stuff like this go,” Palotta told reporters. “You can all look at it yourself on the film.

“I know it’s difficult to ref, but it’s really embarrassing when we lose on aggregate like that. By the way, it should have been red card, which would have been 10 men in the 63rd minute.

“Again, Liverpool’s a great team - congratulations going forward. But if we don’t get VAR in Champions League stuff like this is an absolute joke.”

*Liverpool🔴 Break Champions League🏆 Scoring Record*

Liverpool's prolific attack in the Champions League this season has been fearsome and now it is also record-breaking.

The Reds entered the second leg of their Champions League semi-final against Roma needing one goal to equal the all-time mark in the competition for most goals scored, held by the 1999-2000 Barcelona side that scored 45 goals in 16 games.

The fact Roma had held opponents scoreless at the Stadio Olimpico might have been daunting to some, but Liverpool did not need much time to become the first team to accomplish that feat.

Sadio Mane’s opener nine minutes into the contest equaled the mark of the La Liga giants. And Georginio Wijnaldum’s goal, which made it 2-1, secured the record for the Reds, which includes qualifying, group and the knockout stages of the competition.

Liverpool actually managed to top the record in just 14 games. Real Madrid’s 13-14 team is third having played only 13 games, but they only scored 41 times. Fourth place Manchester United needed 16 games to get to 37, while last year’s title winning-Madrid side scored 36 goals in 13 games.

The Liverpool vs Roma tie also set a new Champions League mark as the highest-scoring semi-final of all time with 13 goals between the teams over two legs, with Roma taking a 4-2 win in the second leg.

*Zeljko Buvac Wanted😯 as New Arsenal Manager⁉*

Arsenal's head of recruitment Sven Mislintat believes Liverpool's assistant manager Zeljko Buvac is the man to replace Arsene Wenger as manager.

Reports state that Arsenal wish to appoint Wenger's successor as soon as possible after the season closes - with Mislintat championing Buvac, his former colleague at Borussia Dortmund.

Mislintat believes a three-man structure incorporating himself, Buvac as head coach and Raul Sanllehi, Arsenal's head of football relations, is the best way to develop a successful long-term strategy at the Emirates.

Reports in the Bosnian newspaper Pravda BL on Tuesday claimed that Buvac was poised to take over at the Emirates.

Liverpool, however, are adamant that Buvac is away from the squad due to "personal reasons", and they are confident he will return to his role at Anfield in the summer.

Buvac, the man Klopp calls 'The Brain', has worked with the Liverpool boss since they first came together in Mainz 17 years ago, and Klopp once called him "the best signing he's ever made".

*⭐Lampard Wants to Become a Manager👔*

Frank Lampard says he is ready to step into football management if the right opportunity comes along.

The ex-England midfielder has been working through his coaching qualifications at former club Chelsea as he inches closer to a first job in management.

Lampard expects more of his generation of England players to move into coaching in time, and backed Steven Gerrard to realise his own coaching ambitions.

While Gerrard closes in on taking the vacant managerial position at Rangers, Lampard has recently been linked with Ipswich - and conceded he is moving ever closer to taking on a front line coaching role.

"I'm doing my coaching badges at the moment. I've spent a lot of time at Chelsea this year, gaining hours of experience," Lampard said.

"I've already managed to get my A Licence in coaching. So yes, with the right opportunity and right timing for me, I'd really take a very close look at it, because you do want to give back, show you can help try to develop players, and help them tactically and whether you can be a good man-manager."
