Last week, I was having a chat with a new client. During the course of our discussion, she told me of how her younger sister had tried to persuade her into buying one of my products but she blatantly refused.
I then asked her what made her change her mind, she replied that when she saw one of the items with her sister, she was convinced to get some for herself.
I smiled.
One of the major challenges facing the world and this country in particular is due to the fact that some people want their belief or way of life to be imposed on others, and when this cannot be achieved, it births strife.
See, you can't force someone to be a Christian or a moslem.
If they don't see enough reason to be one or they are not convinced to accept your faith, accept it and move on, don't force it!
Same way you can't force a lady to love you.
I feel for some guys honestly.
If she's not convinced it's you, you will suffer. You will talk and buy and spend and do all sorts and she will still say no.
But if she's convinced, just one 'hi' from you is enough(ladies am I right?😀).
When I write posts weekly or post advertorials online, I can't force it on anyone, when they see it, those who are convinced to respond will do so without any further persuasion.
Its funny how people add threats to their posts so others can rebroadcast and share. It's not done!
Force may get things done, but it produces strife and enmity in between. A lot of energy is also required when force is to be applied.
But conviction on the other hand doesn't demands much. Lesser energy is used and friendship is created thereafter.
The truth is, when someone is convinced about something, you don't need to talk much, let alone use force, they will accept it easily.
When I was in boarding school, and wicked seniors made us get them drinking water using force, I can remember spitting into it several times before I served it to them(don't blame me😔). No one likes being forced, not even a two year old.
Try conviction instead.
Next time you want to introduce something to someone, irrespective of what power you have over them, make them see reasons why they should accept and not make them accept that they don't have any reason at all(ponder on this).
Your godfriend,
Aiyenigba Tobi.
Rise and do something...now!!!
